Kerbside (Calderdale)

Kerbside (Calderdale) will be providing a kerbside recycling collection service for up to 25,000 households in parts of Calderdale ( see map ). Focsa provides recycling collections in other areas.

Kerbside (Calderdale) offers a fortnightly collection of the following materials:

Paper

Yes please

Newspapers, magazines, phone directories, catalogues and junk mail

No thank you

Cardboard, egg boxes, cereal packets

Glass

Yes please

Bottles, jars (food and drink)

No thank you

Broken glass, drinking glasses, window glass, light bulbs, Pyrex

Cans

Yes please

Food and drinks cans, aluminium and steel

No thank you

Dirty food cans

Textiles

Yes please

All re-usable clothing (please put in plastic bag)

No thank you

Carpets or rugs

Shoes

Yes please

Please tie together and place in plastic bag

No thank you

Odd shoes

Each material should be placed in a separate bag i.e. a bag for paper, a bag for textiles, a bag for cans. Each bag should then be placed in the provided Ecobox. You should place your Ecobox at the kerbside prior to 9 a.m. on your collection day.

Kerbside (Calderdale) is a social enterprise, which operates a kerbside recycling collection service in Calderdale and offers training and employment opportunities for the local community. Kerbside (Calderdale) aims to provide real transferable skills for its workers by offering a range of skills development opportunities. We also aim to remove household materials from the waste stream, thereby preventing pollution of the environment from landfill sites. This work will benefit the environment for generations to come, and at the same time it provides our workforce and trainees with a worthwhile aspect to their work.
