Red Squirrel Wins Food Group Accreditation

06th March 2007

Yorkshire’s newest design and communications company has won accredited industry supplier status with the Regional Good Group Yorkshire and Humber (RFGYH) in the first six months of operation.

Red Squirrel Media (RSM), based at the Wharfebank Business Centre, Otley, officially began trading on October 1st last year, offering a range of design and multimedia services to organisations working in and for the environment, heritage and tourism sectors.

Since then the young dynamic team of marketers, graphic and web designers has won a series of projects, including a climate change awareness campaign for Bradford Council and numerous recycling projects for other local authorities.

Now it’s hoping RFGYH accreditation will open new opportunities for it to apply its creativity to marketing fantastic food and drink from Yorkshire and Humber.

RSM projects manager Suzanne Hudson said: ”The regional food group is passionate about local food and supports hundreds of member companies involved in its creation and supply.

“Our environmental focus means we are also keen to encourage more local produce in order to reduce food miles and help combat climate change.

“We are therefore delighted to be awarded accredited supplier status, which we hope will lead to many RFGYH members trying us out, whether they are small cottage industries making specialist products under the Deliciouslyorkshire banner or one of the region’s larger distributors.”

RSM gained accreditation at the end of February after winning a contract to design market stall display banners for the Mabel Worsdale farmhouse home baking company in Bedale.

Worsdales, which produces scones, biscuits and cakes, recommended RSM to RFGYH, opening the door for RSM to apply for accredited supplier status.

Details about RSM are now listed on the RFGYH website at www.rfgyh.co.uk.

RSM’s commitment to the environment is underlined by its promise to donate five per cent of all profits to conservation. In the first year this money will go to the preservation of red squirrels and their habitats.
