John James is an experienced former national journalist, editor and communications specialist with years of experience across national newspapers, digital media and strategic communications. Having worked for some of the UK's largest news organisations, including the Daily Mail, he has led breaking news teams, managed reporters, commissioned features and investigations, and delivered high-performing content that reached millions of readers.
Alongside reporting, John has built and mentored teams of journalists, developed extensive freelance networks and worked closely with editors to identify audience trends, SEO opportunities and major exclusives. His experience spans breaking news, investigations, features, video journalism and live reporting, as well as appearing on camera to front national stories and explain complex issues to audiences.
Beyond the newsroom, John has advised businesses, charities and public figures on media strategy, public relations and crisis communications. From securing national press coverage and writing press releases to ghostwriting executive thought leadership and producing compelling website and LinkedIn copy, he helps organisations communicate with clarity, confidence and impact.
